Girls leading the way…
…because you are never too young to make a difference!
Our Mission
Young adults serving the South Bay community for 60 years through volunteerism and fundraising.
Who we are
Led by this amazing group of high school age young women, Sandpiper Juniors provides unique opportunities to cultivate a lifelong spirit of volunteerism and a dedication to helping others in need, all while fostering leadership, independent thinking, and confidence.
Making a difference
These young women get to see first hand the importance of contributing to our community. Through both fundraising and community based activities, Sandpiper Juniors deliver much needed help to our vetted community partners.
“I love how we got to create a better environment for kids to learn in.”
- Lola (Sophomore)
Hands on support
Members volunteer weekly to see the difference their efforts make with hands-on-experience in a safe and healthy environment. We participate with organizations like Richstone, Project Needs, Lovejoy Foundation, and local events including Heal the Bay, and the Manhattan Beach 10k run.
Our members can contribute to events run by the larger Sandpipers non-profit organization, including the Summer Arts Program, Back to School Shopping, Holiday Home Tours, Sugar Plum gift drive, and Holiday Baskets.
Fundraising
Our philanthropy drives benefit organizations such as Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), Sisters of Sojourn, and the 1736 House.
Sandpiper Juniors also work to fundraise thousands of dollars each year to donate to local charities and scholarships.
“By working with community-based businesses we can establish commerce with popular restaurants and boutiques around the beach cities. From these relationships, the girls are independently developing fundraisers which have brought thousands of dollars back into the organization and thus into the hands of the people we help. ”
- Danielle (Senior)
Growth & Leadership
Unlike other charitable youth organizations that are run by adults, Sandpiper Juniors drive the direction of the organization, lead the meetings, and manage the fundraising drives.
Advisors from the women’s Sandpiper non-profit are there to ensure they get the most out of the experience and advise as needed, but these young leaders are given the reigns to meet their own goals for the group. After all, We lead the way.
